Artist Statement

I created this work when coming to terms with my autism diagnosis. I have processing disorders that make certain things like sounds and smells much more intense than normal, and I never really knew that other people couldn’t hear electricity or that they felt any different than I did in these situations, so I started making a series of small works that illustrate how I see the world around me. The Feeling of Incandescent Lighting on a Cloudy Day has a dream-like setting that invokes the smell of rain, damp interiors, and the continuous buzz of the world around me.
