This work is called The Urge. It is about compulsive urges and how they feel like they crawl under your skin and suffocate you. One thing that calms my compulsive urges is focusing on a point or action like making tiny lines or focusing all of your attention onto a certain sensation or object until the screaming in your head and body stops. I wanted to capture that feeling in this work with its contrasting figure and obsessive linework.
