The Book As Art v.12: Rock, Paper, Scissors

The Book As Art v.12: Rock, Paper, Scissors is the twelfth edition of an art show celebrating books: objects that, in an increasingly digital world, stubbornly survive. With over 40 artworks on display from across the country, this exhibition interprets the concept of the book and invites the viewer to look beyond the printed page to where ideas, words, and symbols are transformed and are transfigured. Artists are challenged to look inward and outward, to interpret and embrace the childlike fun of this seemingly simple, classic game that blends history, nature, and mathematics with a bit of luck.

Placita Latina Exhibition – “reflections:reflexiones”

The Decatur Arts Alliance presents the 4th annual Placita Latina exhibition. This juried exhibition aims to celebrate and showcase the rich and diverse heritage of Latinx and Hispanic culture. This year’s theme, “reflections:reflexiones”, invites artists to submit works that explore, reflect, and honor their experience of cultural legacy in 2024.  Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a street market closing reception, filled with traditional food, lively music, and local artists.
