Lori Lejeune and the Decatur Arts Alliance present RISING. This new exhibition features a combination of Lejeune’s Flight Series — artwork with birds and other winged creatures — as they intermingle with signature large-scale wall instillation works. The work invites the viewer to address the piece as uplifting as it represents overcoming life events and other things bringing one down.
Lori Lejeune is a mixed media and installation artist who originated a “constellation” style of wall installation in 2010. Her large-scale wall installations often feature multiple smaller artworks of varying sizes combined to create elegant patterns on the wall. Many viewers say that the organic patterns in her work reminds them of a constellation.
Her installations have been exhibited at Real Gallery in Austin, Texas (2012), URBANFronts, ATL (2013), Southwest Arts Center, ATL (2015), the Decatur Arts Alliance (2017), the Emma Darnell Aviation Community Cultural Center in Atlanta (2018), and ArtFields in South Carolina, recognizing artists of the Southeast (2020). Her work has been selected for funded public art projects in Decatur (2021), and Dunwoody, GA (2023).
