Secret Doors

Hidden throughout Decatur are miniature secret doors, each hand-crafted by local artists. Inspired by “fairy doors” that first appeared around the world more than 100 years ago, this public art installation currently includes 30 delightful doors hidden around our community. Each door comes with a riddle to help you find it (or you can use the map below to find them all). You can also download a printable list of all the riddles for current doors.

Organized by Decatur artist, Larry Holland of FishBone Art, the project is funded by the Decatur Arts Alliance and supported by the Decatur Tourism Bureau.
