2024 Decatur Arts Festival POSTER UNVEILING!

Join us for the grand reveal of the 2024 Decatur Arts Festival poster!  This year’s poster artwork celebrates the inaugural Decatur Children’s Book Festival, presented in conjunction with the 2024 Decatur Arts Festival.  The selected artwork was created by local children’s book illustrator and youth educator, Shamar Knight-Justice.
The poster unveiling event will be held at Decatur Glassblowing, with live glassmaking demonstrations by Nate Nardi. Come meet the poster artist, receive a free signed copy of the poster, enjoy light refreshments, and celebrate with a live DJ.
Event admission is free, but donations in support of the arts in Decatur are always welcome. Event parking is limited on Freeman Street adjacent to the studio; more parking is available along Weeks Street.

Shamar Knight-Justice is a New York Times best-selling illustrator and educator based in Atlanta. His artwork focuses on mixed media and unique textures and patterns. Shamar intentionally highlights Black and Brown children in his work because he wants the fullness of their identities celebrated in picture books.
