My paintings are complex, imaginary, and mapped landscapes that deal with ideas of identity, rootlessness, and belonging; attempting to answer that persistent and ubiquitous question “Where are you from?” In form, this piece combines a variety of maps from multiple places with layers of mapping symbols and personal iconography to create a newfound place of belonging.
