The mural on the MARTA overpass at West Trinity Place and Atlanta Avenue is a whimsical addition to Decatur’s extensive collection of public art. A tapestry of bright blues and greens with representations of local plants and animals extends from the sides of the overpass to the area below – a community bus stop that has been transformed into a playspace providing a pleasant place to stop by and be physically active. The space is an extension of the mural and features hopscotch, four-square, an artist-created bench and more to make the area brighter and more welcoming.

The MILAGROS Collective, mural and installations artists Felici Asteinza and Joey Fillastre, was chosen by the Decatur Arts Alliance to create the mural. Work on the mural began in November 2016 and was completed in April 2017.
