See the chalk art pros at work, and join the friendly community chalk art competition

Sunday, May 16 • 10 am to 4 pm • West Ponce de Leon Avenue

May is Arts Month in Decatur, and this year’s celebration includes a first-ever Downtown Decatur Chalk Walk organized by top chalk artist Jessi Queen (you’ve enjoyed her creations at the Decatur Wine Festival, Decatur Arts Festival, and the West Ponce Stroll). Enjoy three areas of chalk creations – a community competition, chalk artist invitational, and free community area – while DJ Kwasi keeps things lively, playing tunes from the pocket park in front of 1 West Court Square.

Sidewalks will be open to pedestrians, and the parking deck will be fully accessible from Swanton Way. Sidewalk squares, chalk artists area and community area will all be socially distanced in observance of COVID-19 precautions.

Masks are required for participants, and bring your own water bottle.

Sidewalk squares are sold out.

Missed out on a square? Look for the free community area set up for chalk art fun!
