This work combines traditionally male and female labor. Working with fiber and metal as both run in my family, and I have acquired the skills for both. I used the welding torch as a makeshift frame to create and hand woven textile that is very feminine looking. The textile has tassles made of used baling twine hanging throughtout to introduce typically male farming labor back into the work. I like to think of this piece as an interruption in how we typically see these objects and materials used.
