“Da N.Y. Block” is a series of four mixed media paintings with foundations built from layered materials— a combination of advertising, magazine, cardstock, and Bristol papers, which render their irregular shapes. A variety of mediums were used—a blend of acrylics, enamel paints, oil paints, crayons, and oil pastels. These paintings were created from a reference photo taken by the artist in Central Park, NY. They all were painted differently giving them distinct identities. Intentionally placed marks are present throughout the paintings to guide viewers on their journey as an observer.
