I am a Chinese-American adoptee from Yunnan province and grew up in Atlanta. It is important to me to have a connection to the Asian-American women I have chosen to showcase. Two of them are women in power, working on bringing good change to my hometown and state, and the third is me. The edited and distorted faces are recognizable but the representation isn’t limited. I have been cutting paper for over 10 years and have always been drawn to elements of my cultural and ethnic heritage.
