While waiting for the Omega variant to make its appearance, I became busily engaged in an attempt to envision our next reality in an etching titled, perhaps somewhat prematurely, After the Deluge. In our new post-enlightenment world, where everything we have come to accept as a basis for getting along in the world is now wrong (instead: horse-ass medicine for covid, white supremacy, the antivax disease, lies are truth and vice versa, and no version of reality too insane to accept instead of confronting the one we actually have), our normal has been obliterated. Where to go from here with all the broken fixtures of our previously sort-of-functional world? Since I had no idea, I decided to spend time ruminating on this theme in the above-mentioned etching which for some reason ended up taking six months to complete. In addition to my press, images of several of the formerly functioning items and figures depicted are derived from some of my previous etchings.
