Join us for a first look at a visual feast of stunning images by photographer Morgan Perkins. An accomplished chef and talented food stylist, Morgan is equally adept with a camera, capturing and conveying her delectable creations in such a way that you can practically smell the aromas. But there’s no need to gnaw on the art because Morgan promises to whip up a little something special for the occasion.

Here’s a little insight into what make Morgan mix, chop and click:

“I began photographing food as a way to illustrate recipes I was developing. However, I found that the images soon outgrew their original purpose. Rather than simply conveying the appearance of a specific dish, the photography became a way to invite the viewer into the experience of it. An image of mussels is more than a pretty bowl of mollusks; it’s about the sensuous nature of the food, the intimacy of sharing a meal, the joy of feeding those you care about and all the other memories and associations each individual brings to the table. So many of our most cherished traditions and memories are rooted in rituals of cooking and eating, and I hope that this collection takes you beyond the mere appearance of the food to touch on the essence of those associations.”
