Primarily known as a sculptor, Julia Trawick Knight continuously pushes her creative boundaries working with a variety of media.

The “Meditations” portion of this show features her colorful, evocative, abstract collage pieces composed with disposable scraps from everyday life. “Inspirations” is a collection of maquettes, the sculptural equivalent of a rough draft.

Although her work runs the gamut from highly abstract to solidly representational, it all speaks to emotions and themes that are universal in nature, that can therefore inspire spontaneous, intuitive and strong responses from viewers.

Knight earned her BFA at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, and had a studio in Pietrasanta, Italy. Since 2014, she has lived and practiced her art in Decatur, Georgia.
