What’s November without the Decatur Wine Festival? Exactly.
No festival? No problem.
This year we’re bringing the wine tasting to your place . . . via Zoom.
All you have to do is buy your ticket, pick up your kit (scroll down) and relax in front of your favorite screen on Nov. 17 at 7 pm. We’ll take care of the rest, with an online tasting led by a master winemaker along with insights and tips for picking the best wines for your Thanksgiving feast. Of course, you must be 21 or older to purchase.
Tickets are $75 per kit. Here’s what you get: Two bottles of wine from the R. Stuart & Co. Winery (Big Fire Pinot Gris, Big Fire Pinot Noir), and a special cocktail, the Do Rum Rum, mixed up by Independent Distillery. (Ingredients: Independent barrel-aged rum, demerara syrup, Bittermens Tiki Bitters, Peychauds bitters, and lemon)
Add-ons! For those of the “more wine is always better” persuasion, add on the Wine Lovers Bundle ($50): one bottle each of Love, Oregon Chardonnay, + Love, Oregon Pinot Noir.
Proceeds benefit the Decatur Arts Alliance and our mission to support and cultivate the arts in the City of Decatur.
More about our speakers: Winemaker Rob Stuart of R. Stuart & Co. in McMinnville, Oregon will present the featured wines. We will also hear from Casey Teague of Decatur-based Independent Distillery and Herb Chereck of local favorite Decatur Package Store, a long-time sponsor of the Decatur Wine Festival.
How it works:
1. Buy your ticket(s) at Eventbrite.com (Again, you must be 21 years or older.)
2. Pick up your kit(s) at Decatur Package Store, 1220 Clairmont Rd. on Nov. 16 from 10 am to 8 pm, or Nov. 17 10 am to 5 pm.
3. Click on the link we’ll send you for the Nov. 17 event. (Remember, 7 pm)
4. Uncork, pour and enjoy.
