2018’s comedy line-up:
Not your ordinary geek. Sure, Lew’s a mathematician and assistant dean of IT at Georgia Tech, but he’s also an accomplished and experienced comedian with more than 30 years of stand-up and improv comedy. Perhaps his talents are best summed up by his business card which reads:
Mathematician / Comedian
“He’s funny and he can prove it.”
Born and raised in Atlanta, David has appeared on Comedy Central’s Kevin Hart Presents: “Hart of the City,” and “Uproarious” on Fuse TV. He was selected by Creative Loafing Atlanta as one of 2017’s People to Watch. He co-hosts a weekly sports/comedy podcast called “Forth and Ten” which can be found on ForthDistrict.com and on iTunes, and is a co-producer for the award-winning Atlanta favorite “1AM Secret Show.”
A full-time entertainer proud to call himself an Atlanta comedian, Jay was named Atlanta’s top comic for 2013 by the Basement Theatre. He has also hosted his own weekly comedy show for more than five years at Sweetwater Bar and Grill in Duluth.
Samm Severin can be seen on Viceland’s Flophouse, Funny or Die’s “Crafts R Qute,” as one-half of PBR’s live sketch show “Samm and Jen’s Big Adventure,” and all around Atlanta doing stand-up comedy. In 2016 she opened for Janeane Garofolo, Creed Bratton, Barry Crimmins, and Kyle Kinane. The rest of the time, she is scrolling endlessly through Facebook.
A quirky and endearing comedian, content creator, and super (tired) mom, Amanda performs stand-up comedy, MCs events throughout the country and co-produces “The Brisket Belt Comedy Show.” She recently opened for comedian Judy Gold at The City Winery and has performed at such venues as the Stardome, the Strand Theater, the Village Theater and the Punchline. Amanda co-hosts the “Sis & Tell” podcast (voted best podcast for Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta 2017). Amanda’s comedy is like your favorite barbecue brisket, inexplicably both Southern and Jewish.
Since moving from Nashville to Atlanta, Will Copeland has become a staple performer at the Laughing Skull Lounge, which features comics like Dana Gould and Jimmy Pardo. He has also performed at the Westside Comedy Theater in Los Angeles, Big Hunt in Washington, D.C., the Rogue Island Comedy Festival in Newport, R.I., and was a quarterfinalist in the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta.
