Kids learn how to make their own glass art in this five day intensive!
Who: Anyone age 10-17 who is interested in learning a new craft or exploring a hands-on experience may participate.
No prior experience is needed.
What: This 5-day course will go over basic safety and instruction of glassblowing. Each student will go through the process of creating several items and learning basic finishing cold work techniques.
Where: Decatur Glassblowing, 250 Freeman Street, Decatur, GA 30030
When: June 25-29, 2018 | 9:00 am to 12 noon
*We may open other weeks depending on interest. Only two students are needed to open a session.
Cost: $600 per student due at registration
What to wear: Closed-toe shoes are required in the shop. Cotton shirts and blue jeans are recommended. Shorts are OK.
Safety glasses will be provided or you may bring your own protective eyewear with you.
What to bring: All equipment and color needed for this workshop will be provided. Please bring a refillable water bottle, snacks, and anything to help keep you cool (ice packs, hand-held fans, etc.).
Need to know: It will be very hot in the shop as we approach mid-summer and will be working with glass and equipment that can be upwards of 2000 degrees. We will have plenty of water for all students.
