The 2023 Decatur Arts Festival will take place Friday, May 5th – Sunday, May 7th.
Join us for a weekend of music, theater, dance, comedy, and literary performances. Purchase incredible one-of-a-kind artwork in the juried Artists Market, showcasing around 120 artists of diverse mediums. And this year’s festival welcomes the return of the Fine Arts Exhibition – with a few “Small Changes”. Visit the newly renovated 4th floor gallery of the Decatur Library to view the magnificent small works on display.
Kick off the Decatur Arts Festival weekend with the ArtWalk, a single-night, city-wide art experience. Enjoy music on the square while you stroll between ArtSpots, local businesses hosting free art receptions with light refreshments.
The kids are up early Saturday morning? Bring them over to the Decatur Recreation Center to enjoy the Kids’ Fest between 10am-2pm! From arts and crafts to inflatables, you’ll find plenty of fun.
Stop by the LOL Tent for a lineup of hilarious comics and improv performances. Visit the Performing Arts tent for literary, acoustic, theatrical, and other performances – and be sure to check out the 2nd floor performances in the Historic Dekalb Courthouse! Find a variety of dance performances at the Decatur Rec – as well as dance classes (so you can get in on the fun, too)! And this year’s Music Stage features local artists throughout the day on Saturday and a Soulful Sunday Series to close the event.
There will be local food and beverage vendors on site during the festival, and plenty of award-winning restaurants around Decatur, as well. Be sure to stop by the Merchandise Tent to take home a 2023 Decatur Arts Festival poster or t-shirt. And if you’re missing any previous year’s poster for your collection, we will have historic posters available, too, in celebration of the city’s bicentennial!
