I'm just a guy in Decatur, GA just starting out in photography. The bug bit me in September of 2007 while on my honeymoon. My wife and I spent a few weeks in northern California visiting the coast and redwoods. We took her point-and-shoot digital camera and I proceeded to go nuts. I took over 1200 shots on our trip! I admit I wasn't always looking at what I was shooting but I couldn't go wrong because of the great weather and beauty!
I was also inspired by our friend, Val, who brought her old Polaroid 330 to our wedding. I was amazed at the tone of the prints. I promptly went onto e-bay and found a Polaroid 330 for myself and had 669 film waiting for me at home by the time we got back from California. I started shooting right away and winning M3 flashbulbs off of E-bay so I could take indoor shots. I soon learned how to do Image Transfers and Emulsion Lifts. This was getting quite expensive and I knew I would have to get another format to shoot in order to change it up a bit. My pick was a Canon Rebel EOS 2000 SLR 35mm with a Canon 50mm EL f/1.8 prime lens. I'm not going digital yet because I have more fun shooting with film and to be honest, as a Web Designer on the side and a CAD tech during the day, I'm quite tired of working with computers.
I have an old Bell and Howell 35mm manual camera as well as a Vivatar VI Enlarger. I also own two Polaroid 250 land cameras (one with the shutter always open for doing light paintings).
