Art Walk • Friday, November 8

Locations throughout Decatur • 5-10 pm

Decatur galleries, shops and restaurants kick off the Decatur Wine Festival with a Friday evening ArtWalk. This single-night art experience, which is free and open to the public, features openings and receptions all around Downtown Decatur. Enjoy exhibits of all kind, meet the artists, and spend a night on the town.

1. Aimee Jewelry • 335 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Aimee Jewelry features local Atlanta artists specializing in impressionist, realist, and abstract styles. Learn about the artists’s work and listen to them speak about and explain their work. A question and answer session will follow.

Aimee Jewelry specializes in designer jewelry, home décor, women’s hip and sophisticated imported high fashion, and fine art in various styles and media from local artists. Sculptures, figurines, floor vases, crystal art objects, candelabras, and mirrors grace the tables and chairs throughout the gallery.

2. Ariel La Boutique • 335 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Ariel La Boutique offers fringe scarves made of yarn, ribbons, and recycled strips of silk; hand-made knitted and crocheted scarves; hand-made beaded jewelry; hand-made leather bracelets; hand-made belts made of recycled materials such as embroidered cottons and silks; and personally designed dresses and pants made from recycled silks.

Ariel La Boutique sells unique clothing hand-made by Ariela Telem.

3. Art Institute of Atlanta/Decatur • 1 W. Court Square, Suite 110

Imprint is an exhibition of photographic works by Linda and Gray Lyons. An imprint is an impression. A physical imprint is a permanent mark on the landscape. These images refer to a selection of objects, memories, and experiences that no longer exist yet continue to exert influence.

The AIA Decatur Gallery exhibits student and faculty work as well as the work of artists from the community.

5. Decatur Arts Alliance • 113 Clairemont Ave.

The completed Community Art Project, created by Paradise Studios and the Decatur community during the 25th Decatur Arts Festival, is on exhibit at the Decatur Arts Alliance gallery. Also featured are various works by the Paradise Studios artists.

6. Decatur CD • 356 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Decatur CD is a Ticket Alternative Outlet.

7. Heliotrope • 248 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Heliotrope is a gift store full of fun selections for the home and for special occasions.

8. Homegrown • 412 Church St.

Works by several area artists are on display: Ashlee Schleicher, creator of My Sweet Nomsa, specializes in modern minimalist jewelry; Chrissy Weeks, creator of Stems, makes original sewn goods; Gina Smith, creator of Thoughtful Art by Gina, deals with mixed media art and also makes hand-tooled leather cuffs; and Julia Farill, creator of Red Bird Ink, makes letterpress cards, prints, and coasters.

HomeGrown Decatur is the world’s only local funk artporium specializing exclusively in locally made art and goods, and is staffed by the artists themselves.

9. The Pinewood • 254 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Angus Galloway lives and works in Decatur. He is exhibiting recent works on paper that explore various approaches to drawing. His artwork has been featured in national and international exhibitions. Visit angusgalloway.com for more information.

The Pinewood is a restaurant inspired by fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The Pinewood’s team reinterprets classic recipes to create unique yet familiar dishes and cocktails. From jam to house sodas, everything we serve is made from scratch and by hand.

10. The Seen Gallery • 415 Church St.

The Seen Gallery is a multi-discipline art gallery working closely with established and mid-career artists, and it offers original painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, etchings, hand-blown glass, and limited editions prints.

11. Sq. Ft. • 149 Sycamore St.

Sq. Ft. is featuring works by Atlanta-based visual artist Emily Norman. She was formally trained in drawing and painting at Georgia State University. She works primarily with acrylic but incorporates photo transfers and collage into many of her pieces.

Sq. Ft. is a boutique located in downtown Decatur offering clothes, shoes, and accessories for adults and children.

12. Squash Blossom • 133 E. Court Square

Squash Blossom proudly features artist Ruby Franklin Tennies and her beautiful oils of the South and its many characters. Ruby will be present to discuss her works. Available for purchase and commission.

Squash Blossom is a mother and daughter owned women’s boutique located in the heart of Decatur that focuses on personalized service, really great clothes, and an experience to remember.

13. Sycamore Gallery • 120 Sycamore Place

The Sycamore Place Gallery offers “Art is the Mother Tongue,” exhibiting artworks from Europe, Asia, and the USA. This exhibition looks to show the universal language of art across cultures.

Ms. Sylvia Cross has been a fixture in the Atlanta arts scene for 25 years, except for a brief departure to live in a treehouse in Costa Rica, and in Verona, Italy. She teaches ages toddlers-to-adults in a comprehensive format where your environment complements the art. Classes are held at Sycamore Place Gallery & Studios in Decatur.

14. Trinity • 131 East Trinity Place

Trinity Mercantile and Design Co. features a local artist exhibition and sale that includes work from Anne Biedler, Barry Rhodes, John Madajewski, Lori Leary, Tom Myers, Nate Nardi, Lindsay Odell, Judy Parady, Cheryl Reid, Jen Soon, and Penny Treese. Trinity will serve Decatur’s own Three Taverns Beer 5-10 pm during ArtWalk.

Trinity is a retail home furnishings store that features upholstery, rugs, and lighting. They have great accessories for the home, gifts, and jewelry. Trinity also offers full service interior design.

15. Vivid Boutique • 133 East Court Square

Jody McFerren is an artist, author, and caterer who currently resides in the Atlanta area. Vivid Boutique will be offering his latest work.

Vivid Boutique is a one-of-a-kind specialty boutique offering unique selections, affordable prices, and great customer service.

16. Wild Oats and Billy Goats Gallery • 112 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.

Athens artist Jamie Calkin uses ink and watercolors in his loose landscapes, which dry quickly, and enable him to complete each painting outside and on site while getting his inspiration from the natural and man-made worlds around him. He will demonstrate his unique watercolor techniques during ArtWalk.

Wild Oats and Billy Goats is a whimsical folk art gallery located in downtown Decatur. In addition to offering paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, wood carvings, hand-sewn and yard art created by local and regional self-taught artists, the gallery offers adults and kids workshops and host birthday parties.

17. Worthmore Jewelers • 117 East Court Square

Worthmore Jewelers will feature original works of Fred Budin, Sue Ye, and Howard Kurtzman with in-store wine tasting during ArtWalk.
